Conscientious Objectors National Memorial Fund

" War will exist until that distant day when the conscientious objector
enjoys the same reputation and prestige that the warrior does today.

We send our profoundest regards and deepest sympathies to all veterans and their families on this day of memory and reflection about war and what it means to be a warrior.

As COs we too honor those who feel the need to become warriors to defend and protect all that they hold dear--family, loved ones, home, community, and nation.   It is with our deepest sympathies that we feel obligated to speak frankly and to reflect on the tragically sad and wasteful deaths of our own honorable warriors who have been sent into battle for dishonorable reasons by the politicians and their wealthy benefactors.  We long for the day when our warriors are no longer sent to invade and occupy nations that never attacked us for trumped up reasons by politicians using the worst kinds of propaganda and fear mongering slogans to stir up the irrational feelings of the nation.  To ignore this most essential truth of our democracy only dishonors those who have fallen in war.   If we are to truly honor our slain warriors we must make and honor our own commitment to work tirelesly to cease the needless violence of our wars of agression and the sending of our soldiers into harm's way for a fool's or a rich man's errand.

We send our profoundest regards and deepest sympathies to all veterans and their families on this day of memory and reflection about war and what it means to be a warrior.
